Overview

GetMark is a browser extension that allows you to take notes, add tags, and associate them with webpages you visit. All data is stored locally in your browser or synchronized via the respective browser's native sync functionality. We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data to any external servers.

Information We Collect & Store

1. Notes & Tags

When you manually create notes and tags, they are saved locally in your browser's storage:

• In Chrome: chrome.storage.sync
• In Firefox: browser.storage.sync

If sync is enabled, your notes may be synchronized between your devices through your browser’s account (Google Account for Chrome Sync, Firefox Account for Firefox Sync).

2. Active Tab URL

When creating a note, the extension accesses the URL of the active tab to associate the note with the webpage. This URL is only accessed at the time you manually create a note. We do not monitor or track your browsing history or behavior.

3. No Analytics or Tracking

GetMark does not collect telemetry, usage data, analytics, or behavioral data. Your activity within the extension is not monitored or reported.

4. No Remote Servers

All features operate entirely within your browser. We do not operate any remote servers to store, transmit, or process your data.

Permissions Explanation

• activeTab: To capture the URL of the current page when you save a note.
• storage: To securely store your notes, tags, and settings locally in your browser.
• host_permissions: To allow filtering and searching notes based on domains. We do not read or modify page content.
• No remote code execution: The extension does not load or execute code from external sources.

How We Use Your Information

• To allow you to save, manage, filter, and search notes linked to specific webpages.
• To enable you to sync notes across your devices if browser sync is enabled.

How We Do Not Use Your Information

• We do not share, sell, or monetize your data.
• We do not collect your browsing history or search activity.
• We do not serve advertisements or marketing based on your data.
• We do not store any data on any external servers.

Security of Your Data

Your data remains secured within your browser profile and your browser account (if sync is enabled). You control your data at all times. We have no access to your personal data.

User Controls

You can delete any note, tag, or all of your data at any time through the extension interface. Uninstalling the extension will delete all associated data from your browser.

Data Disclosure

Since we do not collect or store your data, we have no data to disclose to third parties or authorities.
